When the summer sun is high and scorching, is there a better way to cool down than splashing around? Yes, there is! You can plan a Summer vacation in the Ozarks and stop at Whitewater Park. WhiteWater is part of the Silver Dollar City amusement park in Branson, Missouri.
While incorporated with SDC, WhiteWater stands alone, so you can bundle tickets for both parks or go to either separately. With high expectations for my water-loving son, we made our visit, and I’m here to pass along my insider knowledge.
Explore White Water Attractions
With 13 acres to cover in a day, you’ll want to know what White Water in Branson holds. If you’re a thrill seeker, there’s good news: this park plunges into adventure with KaPau Plummet’s 40-foot drop at a thrilling 70-degree angle. Still, if you’re more of a lazy river kind of person, they’ve got you covered three-fold. Make the most before you go by planning ahead.

With my little roller-coaster hound in tow, we made our entry into the park. Thinking my guy would definitely be up for the plummet challenge, I was sorely disappointed when he landed and parked all day in the Surf’s Up Wave Pool. While he was happy to play there, my daughter wasn’t going to lose any ground. We set out to discover it all, including:
- Kalani Mat Racer
- Kalani Tower Drop Slide
- Coconut Cove
- Surf’s Up Wave Pool
- Kapau Plummet
- Aloha River
- Waikiki Wave
- Ohana Falls
- Splashaway Cay
- Pipeline Plunge
If you want these broken down by thrills, you’ll find high adventure with the Kapau Plummet, Mat Racer, and Kalani Tower drop slides. Both of these offer the ability to race a partner for added adrenaline. While you’re not barreling toward the finish line, the Waikiki Wave and Ohana Falls are tube rides. We all know Ohana means family (thanks, Lilo), and this ride is intended for everyone together. If a little risk is all you like, the Pipeline Plunge sounds much scarier than it is, and the Splashaway Cay is an area full of mild-mannered family attractions.
Eventually, I was able to coax my son away from the tide pool and onto a few rides. We all loved Ohana Falls and went down it multiple times. The heavier you can make your inner tube, the faster it goes. Despite my love of death-defying adventure, my favorite spot here was the Splashaway Cay. It’s a neat water playground area with raised platforms, water squirters, and a bit of a swimming room.
Other Attractions at WhiteWater
While this park was voted America’s Best Outdoor Water Park by USA Today, WhiteWater isn’t an overwhelmingly large place. You don’t need to spend multiple days just to get through all the rides or spend hours trekking from one area to the next. Still, there’s plenty here to keep you busy all day.
If you do want more, WhiteWater offers popular events. Night Water at WhiteWater is largely popular and provided for a limited time in the dead of Summer. Playtime at the theme park is extended into evening hours and concludes with a firework show. Plan your Ozark family vacation in July or August for this experience.
On select Friday evenings, WhiteWater turns into swimming with a show. The park features popular family-friendly movies in the Surfs Up Wave Pool. You can pull up a tube and float away while viewing the show on a 10-foot screen.
WhiteWater can get crowded. While there are plenty of seating options, families may opt to carve out their own place by reserving a private cabana. Premium cabanas offer meal delivery, reserved tubes, luxury seating, ceiling fans, and a 32” TV with DISH service. You can also get a regular cabana, reserved seating, or a party pavilion.
I know I’m always absolutely ravenous when I get done swimming. Fortunately, WhiteWater has six dining options. You can grab a quick snack on the go or sit down to some fancy eatings all within the park. Their concessions and restaurants include:
- Big Island Marketplace
- North Shore Coffee & Cones
- Surf’s Up Snacks
- High Tide Hannah’s Island Cafe
- Big Kahuna BBQ
- Hula Hula Taco
Is WhiteWater Worth It?
This depends on how you purchase tickets, your party size, and what you love. For people over the age of 12, a 1-day pass is $48 (under that age or over 65 is $32). For a family of four, that’s about $160 to get into the park. You’ll still buy food and drinks throughout the day. You can get two or three-day passes for a little extra, but we’ve covered that you can do it all in a day.
Of course, buying Silver Dollar City season passes is always the cheapest way to experience Branson’s amusement park attractions. Both parks frequently run specials where purchasing tickets online is cheaper than in person. It’s a day full of family fun, and if it’s in your Ozark vacation budget, it gets a green light from me. Make the most of it by catching that movie or seeing those fireworks!
